I loved the years next to the outfits! I agree, they all felt a mix of modern with a touch of trendy. One thing I think I'll be wearing in the next 10 years is loafers! I've had one pair for 15+ years and I would be so giddy if they lasted me another 10 (crossing my fingers!).

Also, the dark denim jeans with the crop top outfit are so fab! I also wonder how washes go in and out of style. I feel like a few years ago, lighter wash denim was all the rage and now it seems I'm seeking out darker denim. Or maybe it's just me?!

I'm seriously impressed that your loafers have lasted 15+ years - that's the sign of quality footwear! And it's not just you :) Merchants like to say that the pendulum always swings back and it's especially true with denim, whether it's silhouettes or washes. I've been seeing dark denim pick up in my feeds for the last couple of years, so it's definitely due for a renaissance.

Your outfit inspo photos are epic every time. Truly amazed at what you can find.

This was a delightful read, and so clever. The Matching Skirt set is my favorite, but as a New Yorker, I can't help but ignore the All Black Outfit. Both are timeless options that never disappoint.

Thank you Evonne! I love a good fashion influencer follow :) Both of those outfits are so good - I always love seeing what Abi and Grece are wearing.

Loved this so much!!! I love how creative and thoughtful you are

I actually thought each of these were timeless in that I had no idea what year they were taken in and still find them incredibly stylish.

I wonder how much the trendy elements are only visible to people who are really into fashion?

Thanks so much Xue! Oooh, that is such a good question - I feel like some of the nuance might get lost if you're not really into fashion.

I dream about those Celine Birkenstocks with the western buckles. Honestly they were trendy but to me are timeless - they are me in a shoe and I don’t care how you categorize them!!!!🤤

I 100% see you in those Claire! Even Phoebe Philo's trendy pieces are timeless.

It's so good! Her best outfit imo, although she has so many amazing looks it's hard to choose.

That 2022 fit is to DIE for and I'm actually going to say something conflicting - I think the statement crop is NOT out yet! I visited an Anthropologie this weekend, and there were a plethora of structured statement crop-length tops to choose from.. I was th|i|s close to purchasing the Dolman-Sleeve Pleated V-Neck Top in teal (perhaps not a true crop but closer to a midi?) While I agree that crop tops, in general, don't lend themselves to being 'timeless', I have been a crop top girly since 2015 (that's 10 years of staying power!!) I think some things are up to fit and individuality when it comes to identifying timelessness, because I foresee myself wearing crop tops into my 80's lol

Agree Jackie! The crop is a key silho, especially amongst Gen Z. That particular top reads more 2022 to me because of the voluminous sleeves, but it's still fun for a night out in 2025. Also, I love that you're planning to wear crop tops into your 80s, THAT is the fashion energy I want in this world.

Tina you are so smart and your superpower is finding incredible inspiration that feels neither maximal or minimal (and therefore neither too timeless or trendy)- it’s for all of us!

Also the very practical component of mixing timeless outfit with trendy accessories or trendier outfit with timeless accessories. I love a takeaway and that’s going in my notes folder now!

Thank you Kelly! Reading your reply, I immediately thought Midimalist, my forever favorite Substack name that needs to be in the fashion lexicon. A missed opportunity for me to use it here, but I've got it in my head for next time :)

Oooh, I'd listen to that podcast! And thank you for starting our free focus group, I'm always saying I'd shop with them more if it wasn't for that shipping fee (again, good and bad). The shipping fee is a realreal problem for my budget.
