The RealReal is hands down my favorite shopping destination. I'm 11 years in and am always thrilled when someone makes their first purchase - there's a big TRR community on Substack :) If you decide to try them out, I'd love to know about what you bought!
Looks like I have to join the community 🫣A priority of mine when I shop is minimizing synthetic fibers. When shopping in-stores or online it’s easy to find what clothes are made of. Is it possible to find the fabric composition of clothes on TRR? I’ll have to do some digging, but I’ve definitely been convinced to buy my first item!
Yes, love a TRR convert! The product detail page has the fabric content listed underneath the item measurements - they basically rewrite exactly what's on the fabric tag for all items.
If the item's fabric tag has been removed, it says something like "feels like wool/leather/synthetic". I just do a reverse image search to see if I can find the original item details. TRR doesn't have a fabric filter unfortunately, but fingers crossed for the future.
I'm so excited for you! I love this skirt so much and the white will be the best amount of sheer. If you don't mind sharing pics when you get it, I'd love to see how you're styling this :)
Those are such impressive cpw stats! It’s inspiring me to be a bit more picky with my secondhand purchases (where I’ve made the mistake of thinking eh, it’s good enough), and looking to TRR before buying new.
I love them and sending secondhand vibes your way to find them soon. The sheer dress was such a steal, I still can't believe it. ThredUp is a treasure trove of trends.
When I think of you I think of the Ganni Buckle flats!! It's so crazy to hear you just got them this year since they feel so instrumental to your style DNA. Love these looks and this insight. Xx
Haha, I love this Stephanie! The best/worst part is that they're squeaky, so I feel like everyone in my building hears me coming and wonders if I have any other shoes. But blisters and squeaks won't stop me from wearing them :)
I fully agree with this!! In my experience TRR has a better selection but Thred up has better deals. I recently bought a missoni dress from TU and they emailed me they were refunding me for it because it “wasn’t up to their standards they listed” but were still sending it to me. I got it and love it! The condition is fine and I got a free missoni dress!!! Second hand gives
I 100% agree with you on TRR selection and TU deals. And what?! This is amazing customer service on ThredUp's end. I'd love to see a pic if you don't mind sharing, Missoni dresses are so beautiful.
You know I’m a leather jacket girl so the cropped AB is my fav. Impressed with your numerical breakdowns of everything. That’s the numbers girl in you!
You are such a leather jacket person and I need to take tips from you. Have you seen the By Malene Birger Rowani jacket that Evonne recommended downthread? I'm officially obsessed.
Tina! My Ganni girl! My second-hand shopping sister! The queen of hair! This post was so good and it’s obvious to me that everyone else loved it as well. Perhaps what I love more than anything else is how specific your vision is for your closet. I’m seriously so impressed and inspired. I want to be more like you.
Kelly! Thank you so much for your kind words 🥰 Here I am wanting to be more like you and am endlessly inspired by the way you break down personal style so effortlessly. I loved seeing your outfits this week and I want more :)
I absolutely love your style and the fact that you buy so many secondhand gems is so impressive. I also love secondhand, yet trying to number down my purchases and keep a calm, well balanced wardrobe
Ahhh, thank you so much! What an amazing compliment and I love that you're mindfully shopping secondhand. The RealReal helped set me down this path 11 years ago and I've found my secondhand buys are usually my favorites.
A++ use of wardrobe tracking stats. I'd always be curious to hear your thoughts on how knowing the CPW of your current wardrobe influences your future purchases (or, not!).
Thank you Indyx team and I love this question! Knowing my cpw has been helpful to keep me focused on things I know I'm going to get a lot of use out of, like blazers and neutral colors. I've been going back and forth on a pink asym Tibi dress on TRR and keep thinking, am I really going to get a lot of wear out of this? Tbh I might get it anyway because it's fitting in with a vision I have in my head, but cpw helps slow me down my already slow-ish shopping.
The ganni ballerina flats are one of the best purchases I’ve ever made and I will definitely be getting a pair in a neutral color asap - they’re on sale right now as well
I’ve known about the real real for so long, but I’ve not committed to purchase… You may have just convinced me🫣

Not to be dramatic, but I thoroughly enjoyed reading this. As a fashion enthusiast who supports sustainable/circular fashion this was perfect!🤩
Also not to be dramatic, but your comment made my day! Thank you for your kind words 💓
I ended up snagging the loulou skirt in white on outnet, been looking for something similar for ages & this ticks all the boxes 💕
I'm so excited for you! I love this skirt so much and the white will be the best amount of sheer. If you don't mind sharing pics when you get it, I'd love to see how you're styling this :)
Best first paragraph on Substack.
Oh my, thank you so much!!!
I am completely obsessed with how you restyle and rewear your pieces so many ways. The inspo we all need!!
Jordyn, thank you so much for your kind words ❤️ What an incredible comment to wake up to!
Amazing second-hadn finds that have most definitely inspired me to do the same!
Oh thank you! This comment is giving me life.

Thank you so much and I love this! You can surprisingly find some newer season items on TRR, wishing you alllll of the great secondhand shopping vibes
Sheer everything. That is all.
Usha, you are a woman after my own heart. Excited to see how you're styling your sheer skirts, that cinnamon Tibi one is gorgeous.
I'm slightly obsessed with floating around looking all ethereal 🤣 Tibi aside, there are so many available on TRR/Posh it's hard to stop at one
Those Ganni flats, I keep going on about them but they are just a DREAM. And the sheer dress is gorgeous too.
I love them and sending secondhand vibes your way to find them soon. The sheer dress was such a steal, I still can't believe it. ThredUp is a treasure trove of trends.

I know I was shocked by the level of customer service!!
I'm in awe tbh!

Yes! I love them so much and they're worth every penny. Always a huge plus when they're on sale and when it's from a responsible brand to boot.
