About Me
I have a degree in fashion merchandising and although I didn’t study the History of Polka Dots, it led me to my career in the fashion industry. I started as an accessories, apparel, and jewelry merchant for a range of women’s and men’s brands where I learned the art and science of buying. When online shopping exploded, I expanded my fashion expertise into website merchandising and digital marketing. Most recently, I was a brand consultant at a global trend forecasting agency, advising major fashion and beauty brands on what’s next.
Today, I’m a second year MBA student who’s passionate about the intersection of fashion and sustainability - especially when technology connects the two. I’m excited to transition into this space when I get my degree in a few short months (May 2025 to be exact). If you’re working in sustainable fashion, fashion tech, or want to create a more circular future for fashion, I’d love to connect!
What does semi-sustainable mean?
There are enough clothes on the planet to dress the next six generations with more being made (and thrown out) every day. Add in the environmental impact of sourcing, manufacturing, and shipping, and curating a perfectly sustainable closet feels like an impossible task.
I’ve been slowly making changes to create a more responsible wardrobe for the last six years. This can be a challenge since I love personal aesthetics and trends. I’ve become a “secondhand first” shopper, saying no to fast fashion and shopping more intentionally to avoid impulse purchases, while sometimes buying something new that I definitely don’t need.
