I LOVE your vintage brooches (go grandma) and how you've styled them!! You've inspired me to thrift some more (to add to my canal street collection from college days lmao) AND use my statement earrings more as brooches! ✨
I have so many vintage brooches and I'm so inspired by your post to pull them out! Plenty of my recent outfits could have looked so much more snazzy with one. Not making that mistake this week
I love that you grandma passed the brooches down to you. I bet that makes it so much sweeter. They all look fabulous on you and I love you reposition them all over outfits. You're so chic!!
Thank you Ofelia, it does make them more special. Also, huge compliment since you have such a great eye for jewelry and accessories ❤️ I'm still thinking about the hair accessories in this post https://oferodrig.substack.com/p/june-favorites-25
Elin, you have no idea how happy I am that the Portlandia reference landed with you! And thank you so much, I’m going to let my grandmother know you like her brooches, she’ll be thrilled.
What a joy to read. Like a candy store. As a fellow lover of leftovers -- have you seen any of these cute zipper things that then EXPAND into a bag? A whole rabbit hole ;-) -- and TRR has no idea how to characterize them or what they are ofc
Thank you Rachel and I love how you style leftovers!
Yessss, I've seen those and find them so intriguing - it's like a really useful bag charm and you're sending me down the rabbit hole to look for more of these at resale :) And agree, putting them in the mini bag category doesn't feel right, they read more bag charms & accessories category to me.
Love brooches also so much! You inspired me to wear one of mine today. And yes to Justine Menard, I love! One of my fav ways to use a brooch is to wear them on my jeans cuffs (especially when I have a large cuff). Another to cinch a shirt or blazer. And also I love layering multiple on a blazer lapel.
Thank you for all of this styling gold - wearing a brooch on your jeans cuff is genius (jeanious?). I'm going to try this on my large cuff jeans. Now, I'm off to be inspired by how you styled your brooch for Adam Sandler week :)
First of all, I love love love brooches and how you style them here, you make it look so easy and fun!! Thank you for all the amazing inspiration. And I feel so so flattered to be included here, made my day <3
Thank you so much Kristina! I recently came across Things I Didn't Buy This Week in notes and was so thrilled. Your style and your approach to fashion, personally and professionally, are incredible. I'm excited to dive into more of your articles, you'll see me in your comment section soon :)
This was so inspiring, Tina! Loving all these looks. That circle brooch 🤩 you have sold me on how versatile they are in telling a story and adding personality to a look. So good! ❤️
You know I’m here for anything jewelry related and brooches are truly the most unsung hero of the category. You did a stellar job bringing it all to life in creative ways!!
Thanks so much Sogole, you know I love your eye for jewelry (among many other things) - I didn't realize how underrated brooches were until I started wearing them!
Tina! Can you believe my first brooch I ever owned was a gold Dalmatian (I was obsessed with 101) Dalmatians growing up. I still have it today. Thanks for bringing that memory back.
Tina, you’ve officially made me want to pin something to everything. You gave the old-school brooch the razzle dazzle I didn’t know I needed. The daisy one in particular is so chic. I’m dying to know where she unlocked that little gem.
This was such a smart styling story. Loved seeing how each shape added intention, not just decoration. The bar brooch on the blazer? Expertly done.
Thanks for your kind words Evonne! I'm so fortunate that my grandmother loved her brooches over the decades and didn't mind parting with these. She'll be thrilled that you love the daisy silho :)
Oh, and I also don't feel dressed without jewelry! I wear (24/7) four rings, 5 piercings, and almost never leave the house without 2 more rings, and both wrists braceleted. Loved this article, Tina!
Yessss - I counted the other day and I wear almost 20 pieces of jewelry daily and I love that you're on this train with me. Why follow the advice of taking one thing off when you can put another five on? haha

Oh, thank you - my grandmother will be thrilled :) Statement earrings as brooches are an amazing repurpose, I'd love to see how you style them Karen!

I want that shell hair pin so bad!!
You have made me want that shell hair pin so bad 😂😍
hahah well I hope it makes it into both of our collections
You had me at the Portlandia reference. And then those DREAM BROOCHES. My gawd.
Elin, you have no idea how happy I am that the Portlandia reference landed with you! And thank you so much, I’m going to let my grandmother know you like her brooches, she’ll be thrilled.
These are SOOOOO FREAKING FUN! Your outfits are inspiration gold! I love the Ganni blazer pinned at the neckline - so so so creative and cool.
Thank you, you are too kind. I feel like Paris is going to be brooch heaven, excited to read about what you see while you're there :)
Obsessed! Such a simple way to transform an entire look!
Oh, thanks so much Kaye! I wore another brooch yesterday and it really switches up your look.

Thanks so much! It feels especially personal coming from my grandmother's closet :)

You put new life into these brooches! I love the way you styled them so effortlessly. Each unique piece really ties the outfit together!

Oh, what an amazing story and memory! 101 Dalmatians is a good one and how special that you still have your brooch today.

She scored with the daisy brooch. They def do not make them like they used to. What a special treasure.

I’ve worn as many as 10 rings at a time! Nothing exceeds like excess, hee hee!
Now THAT is living your best life!
