This totally resonated. Currently on my wishlist: a long black wool jacket. Currently in my wardrobe: a long black wool jacket.
Taking pause and remembering what you already own… even if it’s not the exact new shiny thing you want, is so important.
Something I did for my brain that might work for you too is, I told myself I can buy (or at least go and try on) the new jacket I like, if I wear the one I own a handful of times first. This way, I’ll either find out that the one I have works perfectly well or I’ll find out that I’m not really a black coat person… and either way I’ve saved myself from impulse buying the new thing.
Sooo many great ideas Tina! I love how your shorts turned up! Great job! It is so hard to get both hemlines the same, and you can’t really notice it in the pictures. Going to try the turning dresses into tops! 👏👏👏
Achieving a straight cut with scissors is beyond me, thanks for your kind words Noelia! And amazing, I'm looking forward to seeing your dress turned top 💚
So many practical ideas, but the only thing my brain wants to do is blather that I have that same lily-of-the-valley print in an All Saints skirt. There, said it!
I think my favourite hack here is the cargo pants pulled up over the knees - as you're much taller than me (at 5'4"), some of these are tricky for my proportions. I would never be able to tie up a dress' skirt like that.
I voted for Accessories! They are the easiest and cheapest way to change up the look of an outfit. Thank you for the inspiration, Tina! Whenever I do a brooch a little differently, I think of you!
I laughed at the safety pins - I do that too, only I make a "seam" on each side to keep the front flat.
So true Sheila, I love a good accessory to jazz up an outfit. You do brooches so well and one day I'm going to find the minimalist twin to your fantastic shoulder brooch. The safety pins also make me laugh because they're so obvious in person - I've got to get to the tailor :)
Love all the chopping and pinning - you look fabulous in every single outfit! Maybe your tailor can turn those extra inches into a wrap front look to stay in keeping with how you've pinned it - it looks so good!
Thanks so much Elle! I haven't cut up both legs into rags yet since I wanted to show the tailor the hem, this might be my chance to create my version of the Kallmeyer scarf blazer. Thank you for this suggestion, I love it 💚
You genius!! Every single solution was perfectly executed - I love the dress to blouse transformation, and the cargo shorts with the little jacket - uhh I love that so much!
Thanks so much Frosso, that means a lot! I'm always trying to deinfluence myself from buying my entire wishlist. That dress as a top was the perfect thing to wear to the coffee shop to scare the men in tech :)
Tina, turn the pants into shorts; that's genius!! Love how you turned that dress into a top, and it looks flawless. Oh, so many ideas- how we can play with our clothes.
I echo Usha above - the ponytail top is super clever AND cute.

The ponytail top is so so clever!!!! I've been having the shoppies and your post couldn't have come at a better time.
Love these looks Tina and great ideas!
Thanks so much Tam! I'm so glad :)
Tina !!! The pony tail top. I’m in awe !!
Tysm from me and my Piazza Sempione blazer that got away 😘
The creativity in this post is insane! Equally obsessed with your “new” cargo shorts and ponytail top. Genius!
Oh, thank you so much Evonne! I really appreciate this from your merchant POV ❤️
I was just thinking about cutting off some pants! Love these! But the ponytail top is gorg too
Okay, amazing Robin! I'm wishing you all the good pant cutting vibes :) And thank you!
The shorts are genius. This creativity is seriously impressive!
Wow, thanks so much Erin! You've made my day.

It’s really not easy! I do quite a bit of sewing and still get nervous on straight lines!

I’ll keep an eye out for you. 😉 The perfect minimalist shoulder brooch is out there!
I bet not a single person noticed, most people don’t pay that much attention.💕

Please send thoughts and prayers while I grab my scissors 🤣
Ahahahahaha - sending them right now ✨ ✨✨ My fingers are crossed your cutting skills are better than mine Raphaëlle.

Thank you Ritika! I'm so excited you like these since I love how you style everything 😘
I LOVE all of your deinfluencing content!! And that wrapped Nanushka dress is actually fabulous?!! I'm shocked.

Thank you so much Natalia 💚 Styling a dress into a top is helping to solve my no going out shirts problem.
Well, now for me too
I love that and would love to see your going out top styling!
Love how you turned your pants into shorts. Also how creative you were in the way you recycled your dress into a top.
Thank you so much! Those two might have been my favorite :)
